Sungazing

RECHARGE AND RE-ENERGISE YOUR BRAIN IN SECONDS

Our main source of energy here on earth comes from the sun and although you may not be aware of it, it is also your brain's main source of energy.

The only pathway for sun's energy to enter the brain is via the eyes. The practice of 'sungazing' - staring directly at the sun with eyes shut - is therefore the only way you can soak up this natural resource.

This meditative outdoor practice has been found to increase serotonin and dopamine and improve mood, sleep, and circadian rhythms, as well as increase levels of Vitamin D.

Of course, if you looking directly into the sun is never recommended, as the UV rays associated with sunlight can be very damaging to the eyes. The safest time to sungaze is when UV ratings are at their lowest - 30 minutes after sunrise and 30 minutes before sunset. Simply stare at the sun with your eyes closed, in an outdoor setting free from sunglasses, or other glass, for 10sec to 30min at a time and your brain and body will be supercharged and ready for anything!
